INTERNET NEUTRALITY BECOMES LAW

After many months of suspense and due to the urgency created by the recent Democratic Mid-Term defeat, FCC finally approves net-neutrality as a form of public utilities, before Republic Congress seizes control favoring big businesses.

This may become Obama’s greatest legacy, keeping US the font of internet supramcy.

INTERNET NEUTRALITY IS SUCCUMBING TO $$$ ?

FCC is learning from Supreme Court that $$$ talks, contrary to initial campaign promises by Obama for internet neutrality

The telecom companies repeat the same lies that without the ability to charge more, they will not have enough money to invest further for consumers. The same companies used similar excuses, collecting billions of surcharges for providing service to rural areas. Overnight, however, market demanded wireless technology over landline installations. But, those billions of surcharges collected have never been accounted for or refunded to consumers.

After many months of suspense and public outcry, Obama finally reaffirmed net neutuality.

FCC Chairman Wheeler finally invoked Title II authority, “submitting to [his] colleagues the strongest open internet protections ever proposed by the FCC. These enforceable, bright-line rules will ban paid prioritization, and the blocking and throttling of lawful content and services. [He] propose[s] to fully apply—for the first time ever—those bright-line rules to mobile broadband.”
